MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – From Minneapolis city leaders asking the 4th Precinct protesters to vacate to the anniversary of Rosa Parks’ refusal to get up from her seat, here are the top four stories for Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015.
Precinct Protesters Refuse To Move
Minneapolis city leaders held a press conference Monday asking the protesters at the 4th Precinct to leave the premises.
Mayor Betsy Hodges, Congressmen Keith Ellison and other community leaders called for an end to the protest, saying it is no longer safe for them to be in the streets.
Protesters responded to city leaders, saying they have no plans to leave.
Black Lives Matter said it will leave once video of the shooting of Jamar Clark is released, something the BCA said won’t happen until the investigation is complete.
60th Anniversary Of Rosa Parks’ Refusal To Give Up Her Seat
Sixty years ago today, the late Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Ala.
Less than a week later, a young and little-known pastor named Martin Luther King, Jr. led a citywide bus boycott.
That chain of events set off what became the Civil Rights movement and led to historic Supreme Court rulings that banned segregation.
It’s World AIDS Day.
This global health day started in 1988 to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
An estimated 34 million people worldwide are living with AIDS, or the virus that causes it. More than 35 million people have died as a result of HIV or AIDS.

As many as five million parents and 200,000 children may have had their personal customer information hacked, according to CBS Los Angeles.
The information may have been compromised due to a data breach of V-Tech.
For parents whose children have these devices, change passwords immediately.
V-Tech confirmed that a data breach at the kids toy maker has compromised five million customer accounts. The data breach exposed email addresses, names and passwords for adults and first names and birthdates of kids.
